Well, the good news continues out of the Where The Wild Things Are camp. A new batch of a dozen big stills were released today from Spike Jonze's often troubled film. And, as the earlier one sheet showed, the graphics arts and production design departments are firing on full cylinders. Now if only Max and his tantrum induced companions live up to these images which stir the imagination (as the source material does so well) on celluliod. USA Today of all places is hosting the high resolution slide show of images which you can access from the link below. Say what you will about the colourful national newspaper, they taught me today that the kid playing Max also plays the 'young' Mark Ruffalo character from Rian Johnson's The Brothers Bloom, and that is the best segment in the movie. So, more happiness.
God, this looks and feels incredible. I don't think I encountered this story as a child, but the original illustrations from the book does feel familiar in some way... either way, this looks great. Definitely my kind of movie.
Can't wait to see this!!!
