Word is now out that Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar (Chandni Chowk To China) and Aishwarya Rai (famous for not being ugly) - two of the biggest there are - have signed on to star in Action Replay, a film in which Kumar will first appear as a sixty two year old and then age in reverse until he appears to be twenty six. Writer-director Vipul Shaw claims that he scripted his film before seeing The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button but given the rather loose feelings toward copyright in India that's about as likely as my spontaneously levitating off of my couch as I sit here typing this. Nope, not floating yet.
The surprising thing here isn't that it's being remade - in recent years Bollywood has tackled Memento, Oldboy, Fight Club and done a version of Home Alone that ended up being sued by Harry Potter for nicking their title, not to mention the re-do of Reservoir Dogs that so angered some that a group of extremists threatened to release live, poisonous snakes into any theater foolish enough to screen it - but that it's being done so quickly and with such a high profile cast. With both Kumar and Rai pushing for more Hollywood exposure you'd think they'd be a little more cautious about things like this ...
Copying famous hollywood and asian flicks is a very old practice over there. They have done it with almost every high profile movie you could think, from Matrix to Leon to A Bittersweet Life and so on, the list will be too long to post it here, do some google search and you will find one.

You got it right Chevalier, that's how the business run. Movie industry is like playing a video game wherein sometimes you're being betrayed by your friends just because of simple warcraft gold that doesn't make sense in the end. Still the law applies, whoever did it the best way wins the game.
