On the list of movies summed up by their titles, High Kick Girl tops the charts. With karate-trained Rina Takeda in the lead as a high school girl drawn into conflict with a gang of renegade martial artists, the fists and feet fly furiously with all involved taking a good pummeling. We've been tracking this one for a good long time - starting with the original, brilliant but brief teaser - and the official theatrical trailer has just arrived. And? The film is obviously a very low budget affair but it boasts a stack of real life martial artists just beating the crap out of each other and includes some of the more ludicrous footage that I saw in the extended promo reel at the EFM. Including one very impressive take down move by aikido blackbelt Sayaka Akimoto.
You'll find the new trailer - along with the old ones - below the break. And if you want even more, then I direct you to Nippon Cinema, where Kevin has collected the training reels that have been released as brief promo spots as well.

I can watch stuff like this 24/7 and never get bored... Is that the Muay Thai chick from the movie Jackass, she looks familiar...
This would make a great tv series.
Looks interesting.
Hey! Naka Tatsuya (Kuro-Obi)! Without a moustache this time.
The audio in this trailer needs a lot of work, though. the hits have no impact, making them sound weak. It's not a matter of realism. Real punches and kicks don't sound like they do in the movies, but if you were to transfer the real sounds into a film, they just sound like muffled thuds and lack any real emotional or physical impact. If they could edit in such over-the-top nunchaku swinging sounds, then they really shouldn't be skimping on the punches and kicks.
i just watched it on a crappy netbook with no sound (public space) and it looks awesome.......let's hope they get it 100% right until release.
sounds a little weird but looks frighteningly real. the stuff from nipponcinema is amazing ^^
Sweeet!!
