It's been a long, long time coming and while it's not yet here we finally have some firm news on Alejandro Jodorowsky's long rumored King Shot. Despite having Marilyn Manson and Nick Nolte on board to star - and both of them putting up some of their own money for the production - the film remained stalled for several years until David Lynch's Absurda came on board as a production outfit - they're also doing a film with Werner Herzog - a little while back. And now? Cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond appeared on Chicago's WGN Radio recently to promote an unrelated project and spilled to a caller that he expects to be shooting King Shot from May to July of this year. So take heart, cult film fans, the cultiest of them all is coming back.
I've heard rumors on this one for too long to believe it till I see it. I concept art i have seen looks very interesting. Cross your fingers Jodorowsky fans. I can't wait to see how he pulls off the giant skeleton unearthed in the desert.

Don't mean to piss on the picnic, but I'll believe it when I see it. Don't get me wrong - I hope we DO see it - but Jodorowsky's been talking up a myriad of projects over the last few (5, 10?) years and none have found traction. These things are always touch-and-go, especially when you're working far outside the system with such mercurial talents involved.
All that said, fingers crossed...
Collin, I hear where you're coming from but if the cinematographer - who is very much in demand - is saying he's booked and ready to go then things have got to be fairly solid. There are always places where things can go wrong but they're moving on this finally ...
I had a dream about this the other night, so I know it's true this time.
I'd enjoy reading more about Jodorowsky's new movie as far as the production-side of things go, but unfortunately I don't think we'll get much information until the release. And then, we'll just have to find a screening for it. Which I won't do--because it's Jodorowsky and his movies are sooo way out there for me.
