A very fun find here courtesy of the lady-friend (fear her might!) who just passed along info on Laurie Hill's Photograph of Jesus. You know, that guy who lived two thousand years ago? Because someone out there - probably a lot of people, actually - have got it in their heads that someone somewhere must have taken a photograph of him at some point, a photo that must be available in the archive of Getty Images.
What Photograph of Jesus is is an animated tour through the Getty Images archive, a tour specifically made up of all the ludicrous non-existent photographs that the archive has received requests for. Like photos of a living dodo bird. A yeti. Hitler at the 1948 Olympic games. A portrait of Jack The Ripper. You'd think that people smart enough to contact Getty in the first place would be aware that these things cannot possibly exist but no, and in director Laurie Hill's hands the whole thing becomes one very entertaining ride.
