Flying Fast And Under The Radar, Alex Cox's REPO CHICK Wrapped Last Month ...

by Todd Brown, March 29, 2009 1:34 AM

Yes, kids, it's a sequel to Repo Man, it's being produced by David Lynch and according to writer-director Alex Cox's blog it wrapped principal photography in the middle of February. There seems to be a very conscious effort underway to keep this one as under the radar as possible, with Cox saying not a word about the cast and the IMDB page being a total blank, but it's coming and coming soon.

Go to the blog post from 2009.1.27 and you'll find some cast info.

Repo Chick finished additional photography to complete the movie. The movie is in post production and has been kept quiet during this period. The star is Jaclyn Jonet. Repo Chick has several of the original actors stars of Repo Man, to include Del Zamora (Lagarto Rodriguez), Miguel Sandoval (Archie), Eddie Velez (Napoleon Rodriguez), Jennfier Balgobin (Debi), Olivia Barash (Leila), Zander Schloss (Kevin) and Tom Finnegan (Oly). Alex Cox makes a cameo and other stars include Rosanna Arquette, Karen Black, Chloe Webb, Danbert Nobacon, amongst many others.

I have an original Repo Man poster, signed by Alex Cox, that will be up for bid on ebay soon. He signed it on the set of Repo Chick.

I was completely unaware of all this and I think I may have had a total geekgasm and jizzed my pants a little.... until I really thought about it.

Repo Man is one of my all time favorites and I love Walker and Highway Patrol Man, but Cox hasn't done much the past 20 years, and the comic book sequel to Repo Man he wrote recently was pretty lame. And I still have nightmares from Straight To Hell & Revenger's Tragedy.

I don't know, I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one.

Woah, this could be up for an award in the "most unlikely 80s sequel" category... I'll keep my enthusiasm on a leash for now, but now is as fine a time as any to do a proper sequel, too bad Emilio and HDS aren't involved... or are they?
