Because there isn't such a thing as too much Japanese teenage delinquency. Following up the release of the second trailer from that film by Takashi Miike this week comes along the second trailer for another Japanese teenage rumble in the concrete jungle film, Drop, starring Narimiya Hiroki and written and directed by Hiroshi Shinagawa.
Drop is based on the autobiographical novel by comedian Hiroshi Shinagawa. The story revolves around his teen years as a wannabe yankee sent to public school after being inspired into delinquency by the shonen manga, “Be-Bop High School” in the early 80s.
It is due in Japanese cinemas in March 2009. Both the new trailer and the teaser are after the break.

Doesn't look as good as Crows Zero 2, but still looks pretty awesome
The Japanese way of acting was always very strange to me. They overplay, so the acting is not natural.
I think a lot of that is people imitating archetypes from old movies and anime. Delinquents and yakuza are just known to have over-the-top guttural yells and tend to roll their Rs just like mobsters on the Sopranos are stereotypes.
There is a tendency to value overacting in Japan though, they just call it "impact". When you grow up idolizing people like Sonny Chiba -- who did everything from ripping off people's genitalia to eating a banana with the same level of impact -- the tradition just continues I guess. It's definitely not for everyone.
And let's not forget Toshiro Mifune...
Japanese Way of Acting is cool!
