Pierre-Olivier Thévenin and Jacques-Olivier Molon's debut feature Humains - or simply Humans in English - is a film we've been tracking for a good while now, in now small part because the directing duo were also the effects team behind the stunning Inside. Of course it also didn't hurt that Twitch faves Dominique Pinon and Philippe Nahon star in the thing.
A team of several researchers travel to the Swiss Alps to investigate a scientific discovery on human evolution. A family of tourists who have come to take part in the famous carnival. The trip, however, turns into a deadly fight for survival when everyone crashes into a gully and find themselves falling prey to someone...or something.
Sales outfit Overlook Entertainment have been spreading the word that this is more of an adventure film than it is a horror but until now we've had nothing to show people to judge that on. But now? Now the first teaser - which feels more like a promo reel than a proper trailer - has arrived online. No subtitles on this but that's fine because there's no dialog, either, no dialog because there's no time to fir any in with all of the action. Music choice and sound mix seems off but there's plenty in there to look at. Check it out below the break!

I watched the Dark Island trailer yesterday. Boy, is this trailer lame in comparison. Awful 80s B-movie music and fast cuts of scenes that tell you next to nothing about the film. Terrible.
I was a bit worried when I read the synopsis that this was going to be a French re-tread of Descent, which would largely be a waste of time in my opinion. This seems to have a more expansive setting and a more varied threat (human and non/nearly human) as well as an "out in the wilds" adventure side. The trailer music is totally over-cooked though and I hope it isn't part of the actual soundtrack. Other than that, count me in!
