Though there are a few contenders for the Euro-horror picture of the year it would certainly appear from the freshly arrived promo reel that French zombie picture La Horde must be at the top of any gore afficianado's list for the year.
North of Paris. In order to avenge the murder of one of their own by a group of ruthless gangsters, four corrupt cops go on a rampage in a condemned building serving as the mobster's hideout. Now trapped, the officers are about to be executed when the unimaginable occurs: hordes of bloodthirsty, cannibalistic creatures invade the building, savagely attacking everyone. Unexpected alliances are made when their lives are threatened by the unthinkable.
The reel gives away virtually nothing of the plot beyond that, which is totally fine because it's far more concerned with showcasing the film as the nasty, bloodthirsty affair that it is. Incredibly tense, very action oriented and enormously stylish without loosing the grit that makes it all go, this should be spectacular stuff. If the information on the reel is correct this should be through post and ready to hit the fest circuit in August, so be on the lookout.
