You feel a song coming on? I don't but that doesn't mean that you can't. In this special musical edition of Poster Alert we have two posters for two great cult musicals, Brian De Palma's Phantom Of The Paradise, screening Febuary 3rd at the Lamar, and one of my favorites Hedwig And The Angry Inch by John Cameron Mitchell which screens on January 20th at the Ritz.
Tim Doyle created two versions of the Phantom poster, one regular available on mondotees.com and an all glow in the dark variant only available through gigposters.com. That means that the regular is 5 colors and the variant 6 colors. The 18x36 pieces come individually signed and numbered.
Now I love Hedwig And The Angry Inch, the best new musical to come out in years, but I don't remember him being a giant transgender robot battling a communist army. But that don't matter. For the Sing Along Party screening of this fantastic flick Jesse Philips went all out and did what he does best. The piece is 24x36, 5 colors and comes in two versions over at mondotees.com

I always dig these posters, but I did find one thing odd: The Hedwig poster is brilliant, but the otherwise great Japanese (cool font, by the way) suggests that January 20th is a Saturday. Small thing, I know, but English misspellings on Japanese signage is often subject to the same gaffes ...
I used to read Twitch on a regular basis (a year or two ago, now, when I think about it) and it's nice to see more entries on the site other than reviews and information on upcoming films or re-releases. Things like -- posters, t-shirts, etc. Of course, I am always happy with the reviews and other film-related news!
wow. that phantom poster would be perfect if they'd put Beef in there. maybe the death records logo too? although the swan behind the man himself is a nice touch. great overall.
