Jason Gray chimes in on Tak Sakaguchi's 'Samurai Zombie'

by Andrew Mack, January 16, 2009 10:43 AM

Oh Jason, you tease. You, all the way over there in Nippon catching all those great cinematic gems then taunting us with your words and thoughts on them. Oh... you!

Our friend had the chance to see Tak Sakaguchi's latest offering to the horror zombie blood-fest Samurai Zombie. He chooses to accentuate the positive talking about a lot of the elements: Story, music, cinematography, makeup and sfx, and AV star Natsume Nana. Hey-oh!!!

Objectively looking at it from a midnight screening/paying customer POV, it'd be much better off as the B-side of a double bill rather than a standalone ticket.

Watching zombie films is like watching kung fu films -- you go through a lot of B, C and Z-grade stuff with very few As.
