It has been almost exactly a year now since the death of Heath Ledger and things finally seem to be wrapping up on Ledger's final film: Terry Gilliam's Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a film that ha opted to stay decidedly below the radar since Ledger's death. But no more. The first proper still from the picture - as opposed to behind teh scenes shots, of which there have been several - has appeared on a Swiss website and I'm 90% certain that it's a shot of Ledger. It's certainly his character and I'm very nearly willing to swear that it's not Johnny Depp, Jude Law or Colin Farrell - the trio of actors who stepped in following his death.
Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this 'coming of age' milestone and Dr Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Mr Nick arrives to collect but, always keen to make a bet, renegotiates the wager. Now the winner of Valentina will be determined by whoever seduces the first five souls ...
Christopher Plummer and Tom Waits also star. The site with this image has been known to run things without first securing proper permission so I would not be at all surprised if this disappears soon. Move fast.

Looks epic. Hope it's a great film for Gilliam.
it has a late-80s malkovich vibe.
I remember seeing that pic in the promo trailer that was on the web a few months ago. Can't wait for the actual trailer.
"it has a late-80s malkovich vibe." lol what?
