TERMINATOR: SALVATION Trailer Arrives.

by Todd Brown, December 11, 2008 12:36 AM

Like the headline says, the trailer for Terminator: Salvation has arrived and I hereby formally rescind every nasty and / or snide comment I have ever made about McG. Except maybe for the bits about Spaced. Those ones stand. But I gotta hand it to him ... McG has done the impossible and made Terminator relevant - even exciting - again ...

Well ... so ... ok ... maybe there are some fine images in there (red-eye robots in the rain, motorbikes in the desert...) ... but I must say this doesn't exactly blow me away or make me jump around the room in euforia waking up the neighbours ...

... and also that little "you killed my father, you killed my mother, but you won't kill me" speech didn't help ...

Nope, not convinced just quite yet

Getting Christian Bale to play John Conner is one step at the right direction. His presence alone has push me to give this movie a shot.

Yeah, this trailer is getting a lot of praise on all the blogs and what not. It's not because it's great, it's just because it doesn't suck.

The film looks competently made, but there's nothing here that's peaked my interest in the least as really standing out. If anything, it makes me wonder what the point of the previous 3 Terminator films were?

They were all essentially the same story told slightly differently and yet.... the future still remains exactly the same?!! Well, aren't those films completley redundant now? Although, I realize that 3 set up 4, I wasn't a big fan of 3 and then the Sarah Conner Chronicles are completley seperate as well.

Does this follow up from the ending of Terminator 3?

No point in discussing the time lines until a script is available to read. Just wait for the movie. :P

...Oh yeah, and in terms of; "aren’t those films completely redundant now?"

No. The great irony of time paradox is that the more you try to stop an event the more you make that event inevitable. If something happens one way, it's always happened that one way. By going back in time to try and stop an event, you essentially cause that event by your actions.

That's why Fry was always his own Grandpa... ya know.

Well I'm happy with the new trailer. This will be the first time since T2 that I am actually excited about a new Terminator film. Cameron's films were great but after T2, the Terminator series needed a new direction and someone with the balls and talent to pull it off. McG looks like he has done it. Liking to new Terminator machines too.

Lets hope the film does well.

Looks like it could work.
Hope the studio didn't push for a PG-13.
Please, a red band trailer.

I think its been shot with this movie AND Dragon Ball... haha

i wasn't blown away either. the images are well composed and well made. i always like the grainy desaturated look. but i don't see any ideas yet...the dialog was dull and there wasn't anything about the story line.

i hope John Connor isn't killed off or made a secondary hero because of altered time like i read...maybe thats why i feel weary watching this trailer.

Starship Troopers crossed with Mad Max = Terminator: Salvation?

bale does the batman voice again. he's wasting his talents, but the trailer looks okay anyway.
