We've been following the progress of Jorge Olguin's Solos - or Descendents - for a good while now for a number of reasons. First, Olguin has Guillermo Del Toro on board as a producer for his next film and, as we all know by now, Del Toro has a nose for talent. Second, Solos is the first ever zombie film to come out of Chile, and that fact alone makes it noteworthy. Third, Olguin has seemingly done the impossible and found a novel spin on the zombie film by first making his group of struggling survivors all young children and second by also lacing in a strong layer of political savagery that sees the destructive force of the zombies themselves overshadowed by roving military death squads - a direct and deliberate reference to life in Chile under Pinochet.
Olguin's film is due for theatrical release in Chile in the very near future and with that release looming he has cut together a brand new theatrical trailer for the film and been good enough to pass it out way. Take a look below the break in the Twitch Player.
