Last September, we reported the producers of the upcoming dark sci-fi & fantasy animated anthology Heavy Metal had a falling out with Paramount so they decided to jump ship with a different distributor at Sony Pictures. According to a post in the Heavy Metal forum from the film producer Kevin Eastman, it seems the conflicts againest Paramount has somehow been resolved and he also confirmed some of the directors attach to helm one of the segments thus far. This is what he wrote in his post:
Hey Guys, Well here we are again--and I'm trying to keep you up on the latest, without boring you with the 24/7 issues that are delt with on this project. Regardless--things proceed--and the good news I have to share is Zack Snyder has said yes to directing one of the segments--so he's be joining (David) Fincher, and Gore Verbinski as part of the official line up--there's more on the director front--but I'll hold off to share more with you shortly. Also looks like it might end 8up back at Paramount--gotta love Hollywood. More details as I get them. Kevin
Surprisingly enough, David Fincher, who was the main factor for the trouble relationship is still involved in the project which means they must have settle their political difference. I'm just glad to hear the project is still moving forward. The tentative release date is sometime in 2010.
