A Full Trailer For Thai Combat-Basketball Flick FIREBALL!

by Todd Brown, November 26, 2008 1:02 AM

Tai, a young man arrested on a crime charge, is discharged thanks to his twin brother Tan’s dogged help. After being set free, he finds Tan in a coma with severe injuries. Tan’s girlfriend, Pang, tells Tai that his brother got involved in some risky business to raise money to fight Tai’s case. Tai feels guilty that his problems brought his brother trouble. He then traces what happened to Tan, which ultimately leads him into illegal basketball gambling. Tai wants to find out who is behind this gambling and why his brother was beaten unconscious. He finally joins the “Fireball” team ...

Yes, this is the new film from the director of the fascinating but flawed Opapatika. Yes, it is a full contact muay thai basketball film. Yes, it looks as though people probably got hurt quite badly while making it. Yes, it's a ludicrous premise, but brilliantly so. And, yes, we have the first trailer for the picture in the Twitch Player below the break.

If only the NBA was more like this, I'll buy season tickets every damn year...

Man, the Weinstein Company is going to have a field day ruining THIS one - basketball and violence? I'm surprised they haven't already bought it, it's tailor-made for their pandering. Let's just get it over with.

Nice THWACK repitition there haha. Shame it's on cheap stock but looks like another one worth a look.

You gotta be kidding me. This movie already smells a day late and a couple continents off course...about as dubious as KUNG FU DUNK. And if it weren't for the director's other pretty solid effort OPAPATIKA, I'd completely write this off. Ultimately, I'd be very wary of anything muay thai not from the house of Sahamongkol.

lol every kick and punch sound the same, and like something out of the 30's.
