Ah, Jake, you know how to push our buttons, you do. Jake West is, of course, the director of Evil Aliens and after a brief sojourn into the land of made-for-TV films he's back doing things on entirely his own terms and the result is The Doghouse which, once again, blends comedy with massive arterial sprays of blood.
Pitting a minibus full of single men on retreat to help one of their number through a rough divorce against a town full of women driven mad by an airborne toxin that affects only the fairer sex, turning them into violent, bloodthirsty fiends who prey upon their menfolk.
Last time out West had his heroes running over a field full of aliens in an enormous combine thresher, tearing the aliens to bits. Want to know what he's got coming this time? Of course you do. Take a look at the first trailer below the break. And after marveling at just how much fun this is remind yourself that it is actually a reel hastily assembled for investors and sales purposes using material from just the first couple weeks of shooting. Production wrapped on the 13th of September and West promises more carnage soon.
I'm a huge fan of Jake West's Evil Aliens (Razor Blade Smile is a failure in my eyes, but an enthusiastic one none the less) and I'm really looking forward to this! It's a shame it didn't get a chance to play at Midnight Madness this year. I'm sure it would have killed.

That looks like a ton of fun. The female zombies-whatever-they-are reminded me quite a bit of the old 'Demons' make-up. I'm thinking 'Hot Fuzz' meets 'Evil Dead' for this. Looking forward to it.
