So, we have been singing the praises of Nacho Vigalondo's Time Crimes for a good long while in these pages - check the review archive for a host of detailed reviews - and with the film finally coming to US shores before the end of the year the official US trailer has been released. And comparing this one to the earlier Spanish trailers is like a text book lesson in different approaches to marketing. The Spanish trailers play it as a mystery, they're designed to hook the audience into a world that they don't really understand and want to figure out. The US version? It's the film in a minute and a half. The sad thing is the US marketers are probably absolutely correct that this is the approach they need to take to get audiences here into the theater ...

I've been warning just about everyone and anyone not too watch THE US trailer for this film, it will truly undermine the actual film experience. Better to go into this one as 'cold' as possible.
Wow. You're not joking about "spoiler-happy." This is a disgrace. I'm glad I saw this film in April.
Too late; sigh. And here I was all excited about its getting released in NY in December at the Sunshine. Still, pumped to see it on a big screen.
Oh and whatever happened to the rumor about the US remake? As much as I think Cronenberg needs to go back to doing his own screenplays, I think this could be really good for him. Now if only he cared what I thought....
They're not going to set up a director until the remake script is complete. Word is the writer of City of Men is working on the script now and both Romero and Cronenberg have expressed interest in doing it.
Got to see this in DC last night. Awesome. Still not sure if I had seen any footage prior because for some reason I only had that pic you keep using as a header in my mind - kinda thought it was going to be animated going into it - guess it's been on my "must-watch" list for a LONG time without actually getting much more detail on the film itself.
Hate the TIMECRIMES trailer with a passion. A real disservice to what is probably the best sci-fi film of the year.
