Our thanks on this one go out to WiseKwai - master of all things Thai - who dropped a note during TIFF pointing the way to Mai Fah, a forty minute action comedy by Eakasit Sompetch. But this isn't just any action comedy. Nope. It's a loving - and absolutely spot on - parody of the Pech Panna Productions films of the 80s and 90s, the films that Ong Bak fight choreographer Panna Rittikrai directed on budgets that amounted to pocket change and where star Tony Jaa first learned his trade. They're cheap, they're trashy and they're a lot of fun. And so is Mai Fah, all of which is available to view online at the link below.
