First Shot Of Rinko Kikuchi and Yoko Fujita In Mamoru Oshii's ASSAULT GIRL 2!

We first caught wind of upcoming action anthology project Kiru ~ Kill back at the end of August, intrigued both by the concept - four directors shooting the climax sequences of non-existent action films - and by the involvement of both Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii and X Cross director Kenta Fukasaku. Though Oshii is best known for his work in animation he has done some very memorable live action work in the past - his feature length Avalon is brilliant - and while I've been harsh on Fukasaku in the past he finally came into his own - in gloriously trashy fashion - with the hugely entertaining X Cross. As an added little aside I take the involvement of both directors in this project as a sign that their collaborative film Elle Is Burning is coming along well, or else they'd not likely want to work together on this ...

Anyway, I digress. Regular Twitch reader and Mamoru Oshii expert Brian Ruh has been keeping on top of this one, recently pointing us to the official website for the film, wherein we learn the identities of the other two directors: Takanori Tsujimoto and Makoto Tahara. Tsujimoto has been involved in some other Oshii-supervised omnibus films in the past but this is Tahara's first directorial work. Also passed our way by Ruh? The first still from the film, which looks to come from Oshii's own segment, Assault Girl 2, which stars Babel and Brothers Bloom actresss Rinko Kikuchi. Hit the link below for a larger version.

I think I've come up with some actors and titles of the other segments.

Takanori Tsujimoto's segment is called "Chirico" and stars Miki Mizuno (Hard Revenge Milly) and Ayaka Morita (Virgin Snow).

Makoto Tahara's segment is called "The Firing Range" and stars Yuma Ishigaki (Azumi series)

Kenta Fukasaku's segment is called "The Children's Samurai" and I am unsure who is acting in it.

All the title's are auto translated so I'm not positive that they are 100% accurate but I'm pretty sure that the actors are correct
