English subbed trailer for Shinya Tsukamoto's 'Nightmare Detective 2'

by Andrew Mack, August 2, 2008 7:27 AM

Thanks to the watchful eyes over at NipponCinema for picking up the news about the English subbed trailer for Shinya Tsukamoto's Nightmare Detective 2, the sequel of course to Nightmare Detective [Der!]. Any day that you get to mention a Tsukamoto film is a very good day.

Excerpt from Todd's review - Kyoichi Kagenuma, the Nightmare Detective, is back. Still plagued by his unwanted abilities – abilities that allow him to read thoughts and enter other people’s dreams – and still debating suicide as a means to end it all, all he wants is to be left alone with his misery. But solitude will not come. Drawn by word of his strange abilities a high school girl, Yukie Mashiro, comes to his home day after day begging him to free her from her recurring nightmares and even when left alone Kagenuma is plagued with visions of his mother who committed suicide when he was just a young boy. How can he find peace?

You'll find the trailer embedded after the jump...

wouldn't be surprised if the R1 _Haze_ is in limbo due to the Palisades/Media Asia battle. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117989670.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

really looks great. almost more surreal than the first in a few scenes.

out of curiosity, does anyone know who plays the music in the second half of the trailer? it starts out around 1:30 in the trailer and is utterly gorgeous. just my taste. i'm just curious if it was scored for the film/trailer or if it's a specific artist? i searched online but to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.
