Ah, Madonna ... when will you learn that you're really only good at one thing and be content at doing that? After some positive press on your early work the acting thing hasn't worked out so well, your attempts at 'guiding' husband Guy Ritchie's career were disastrous and word on your own directorial effort has not been so hot. Nope. Film's probably not your thing.
But for those of you out there who like to watch a disaster in the making - or, rather, a disaster already made and now being presented to you in hopes you'll want to spend money to see more - we present the first trailer for Madonna's directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom. The casting of Eugene Hutz from gypsy-punk band Gogol Bordello - he's also a co-lead in Everything Is Illuminated - was a surprisingly astute move as Hutz is every bit as charismatic in front of a camera as he is in front of a band but he's looking like just about the only consistently watchable thing in this. No US release planned for this yet so we've had to go to France for the trailer. You'll find it in the Twitch Player below the break.

"Ah, Madonna ... when will you learn that you used to be only good at one thing"
Fixed.
Hee hee ...
Don't just stand there, let's get to it! Make a film, there's nothing to it! Vogue!
That looks really bad. I'm glad that it can't find distribution. I'd say stick to your day job, but I don't want her to do that either.
appalling script, laughable acting, terrible camera work. A joke, surely?
NOOO!!!!! No Eugene, No!!!! Why?!!! My favorite band... Ruined!!!
Well, I won't go that far, but this defintely dampers their image. I know they can use whatever cash they can get, but this is pretty damn demeaning and a pretty bad excuse for self promotion.
Eugene is awesome, he was f*cking great in Illuminated and I wish to hell he actually got to play himself in the rather mediocre Wristcutters.
But this? This is lame. Madonna just likes to jump from fad to fad without understanding any of the essence that made it so popular to begin with. Without the fact that Gogol has been touring NON-Stop for the last 3 years, and Eugene still spins at the Bulgarian bar in Soho, this piece of sh*t must have been shot during a weekend off or something.
Speaking of favorite bands, everybody should listen to this. I've been looping it over and over and over for the last couple days ...
As long as she doesn't get near Liev Schrieber, I'm good.
Eugene can take care of himself...mebbe he should actually work with Nick Zedd instead of just singing about him to regain his gritty, Downtown crown. Or not.
See you at Menhata.
"If you want to touch a sky, fuck a duck and learn to fly"
hahahaha
I'm surprised that it didn't look too bad.
