After months of waiting the first trailer for Gordon Chan's Bride With White Hair throwback film Painted Skin arrived and after being teased with a string of gorgeous still images the response to the trailer was a tad underwhelming. You see, that trailer - which was released for the Malaysian market - was really nothing more than one of the very early sales promo reels, edited together quickly and presented in very poor video quality. Well, in preparation for the film's release in mainland China a second trailer has now arrived and it's looking much better. The video quality is still far from pristine but it's a huge step up from the Malaysian version and the trailer itself is far superior. Check them both out in the Twitch Player below the break!

What can I say... I'd really like to impressed but I just can't get rid of the bad vibes about this... First I really hope the editor of the preview is not the same as the movie. Second, the whole just doesn't seem to take itself seriously, but not in a good "hommage" way. Seems like it looks down on the genre it tries to portray. But it's just an impression based on the trailers... Maybe they don't do justice to the movie. Guess we'll have to wait, but for now, color me very skeptic about this one.
ah, much much better trailer.
but still nothing really eye-popping, especially after those fantastic still images.
Doesn't look bad, neither that exciting.
Still looks poor. How about a proper trailer without voice over?
The HK trailer shouldn't be any different. still I want to see that.
You people act as if trailers were the ultimate proof of the quality of a film.
Donnie.
Still not digging it. The tone feels too light-hearted, like Twins Effect 2. I was hoping the movie would carry much more weight than that.
With the ever annoying Donne Yen in it.Not when it comes to his fighting style, but for his acting style.
Return of the bad wire kung fu flicks from the 90's whip yi.
