Well, well, this looks surprisingly good.
I'm just taking a bit of time this morning catching up on some things that have slid while I've been attending Fantasia and there in the inbox was the trailer for the Mark Wahlberg-starring live action film adaptation of popular video game Max Payne. And it actually looks pretty damn solid. Wahlberg suits the role very well, there's actually a good bit of plot and character work involved with this character, and the visuals are very impressive. A game movie worth seeing? Could be. Check it below the break.
Thanks Raku!

I thought it looked quite impressive even though i have heard its PG-13.
Needs a another beretta in the other hand while the squibs are going off if you ask me.
Meh, the game will turn out much better (especially Max Payne 2, which is amazing).
oh man, Marlo Stanfield! that alone is sort of worth it.
Agree with Simon, plus, Marky Mark is a bore to watch.
Victory! I have successfully baited a response! Huttah! Touchdown dance (take it down, take it down, take it down NOW!).
Sorry. I just rewatched the QUICK GUN MURUGAN trailer. It has that effect.
Ok. Ok. I am calm. I am cool. I am collected. Breathe. Write some more about why BATMAN is better than BATMAN BEGINS. Exhale. Ahhh....
Mark Wahlberg is very hit-or-miss for me. This looks like a miss, though it sure is pretty.
Well this has certainly whetted my appetite! If everything in the trailer makes it to the movie I'm pretty sure that this isn't going to be a PG-13. Even couched within the stylised look of the game, it just looks too violent and bleak to be anything but "R". And if it does make it to PG-13 (as Dark Knight has) then perhaps we shouldn't be wetting our pants everytime we hear of a project aiming for that rating.
But I love wetting my pants.
In fact I'm doing it right now. Mmmmm, warm.
