No doubt about it, I consider Shane Meadows to be one of the very best film makers alive and working today. Meadows is smart, funny, insightful, not afraid to go for the throat when the situation demands it and bright enough to know when to lay back a bit. With This is England Meadows discovered a brilliant young actor by the name of Thomas Turgoose - brilliant precisely because he's not an actor, really, but he does have enormous faith in Meadows and in his own voice. So the prospect of Meadows and Turgose working together again on Somers Town made me a happy boy, and even happier when I saw from our own Simon's review that the film is very good indeed. What makes me happiest of all? Finally being able to see some of this ... UK web zine Empire scored the trailer for the film recently and my thanks go to the anonymous benefactor who loaded it in to the Twitch Player for my (and your) enjoyment. Brilliant stuff. Can't wait. Man, Thomas Turgoose... I love this kid. He blew me away in This Is England, and it looks like he's just getting better. What a lucky find for Meadows.
