Poster and First Image From Gaspar Noe's ENTER THE VOID

What do you do if you're a film maker known the world over for putting one of the most graphic rape scenes ever on celluloid? If you're Irreversible director Gaspar Noe you make an experimental picture driven by dream and hallucination. That film is the upcoming Enter the Void and while I have no idea if this is going to work it's certain that the attempt will prove fascinating. Here's a snippet of what Noe has to say about it:

The visions described in the script are inspired partly by the accounts of people who have had near-death experiences, who describe a tunnel of light, seeing their lives flashing past them and ‘astral’ visions, and partly by similar hallucinatory experiences obtained by consuming DMT, the molecule which the brain sometimes secretes at the moment of death and which, in small doses, enables us to dream at night.

The film should sometimes scare the audience, make it cry and, as much as possible, hypnotise it.

It sounds as though he's going completely non-linear in this one and I'm fascinated to see what the first teasers and trailers come out looking like. What I don't have to wait for is artwork and stills because I've got both a poster and the first proper still from the picture to share with you now.

I'm hoping Noe can pull off something refreshingly visionary with this one. I can't wait. As harsh and horrifying as his movies are, they are entrancing. Irreversible made moviegoing a new experience for me. I Stand Alone is one of my favorite films.

Sounds interesting, Irreversible already had a dream-like feeling (or nightmare in that case, heh)
