Jo Odagiri Takes Over The World.

Apparently Jo Odagiri can't be stopped. Already a huge star in his native Japan Odagiri is now systematically taking over the world. He's just wrapped the new Kim Ki-Duk film in Korea, he's part of a major international co-production in Brazil and now he's got a film project coming from Hong Kong's Edko Films. Titled The Warriror and The Wolf this film is an adaptation of a Japanese novel from Chinese director Tian Zhuangzhuang. Odagiri stars as Lu, a Qin dynasty soldier sent into the remote desert to battle nomadic warriors where he encounters a strange woman. "In this valley of wolves, trapped in a suffocating desolation and haunted by death, their passion grows into a roaring fire, changing them into beasts that they never knew they are."

The tech tam on this is very strong. Director Tian is well known for his films The Go Master, Horse Thief and Springtime In A Small Town; the costume designer boasts work with Akira Kurosawa, Pater Greenaway and Zhang Yimou; the effects supervisor worked on Hero, Phantom Menace, The Green Mile, and Madagascar. Should be good.
