The second teaser for Katsuhide Motoki's Gegege no Kitaro 2 (Gegege no Kitaro: Sennen no Noroi Uta - translated as ‘Song with the Thousand-Year Curse’), a live action adaptation of the supernatural fantasy manga by Mizuki Shigeru, has been added to the official site. In addition to the teasers, our good friend Don Brown from Ryuganji has posted a link to a couple stills that features some of the many strange "Yokai" in the movie. The story will focus on a forbidden love between humans and yokai and unlike the last installment, the sequel will be targeted at the mature audience instead of the kids.
The theatrical release date in Japan is on July 12th. Check the two teaser below after the break.
The first movie was... doable. And it was meant for kids. Well, to be franc, the first one was also shit. I watched it through but it was kinda hard on my sanity.
Now, the second one to be coming now looks more like something I'd enjoy, but then again the only thing that I really liked in the first one was the silly yokais which seems to be the thing they cut from the coming movie to make it more "dark". That and the add of several filters... gee.
Ah heck, we'll just wait and see.
