We're big fans of French animator Michel Ocelot around here and anxiously awaiting English friendly DVDs of his two most recent features, Kirikou and the Wild Beasts and Azur and Asmar. I'm hearing rumors about a region free, Taiwanese edition of Kirikou that includes English subtitles but haven't been able to confirm it - if anybody out there can, I'd love to hear it - but what isn't rumored is the upcoming UK edition of Azur and Asmar. That one hits DVD in late July, so check out the trailers below the break then get after the disc.
There's a R1, English-subtitled DVD of 'Kirikou and the Wild Beast' (strangely missing its last letter) released in the USA a day after this.
