Frank Miller's got the movie bug. After being an active participant in the adaptation of his classic graphic novel Sin City with Robert Rodriguez, Miller opted to take the lessons learned on that set and try directing solo. His target? Will Eisner's comic series The Spirit. The first posters turned up a few days ago and it became immediately obvious that Miller was going for the same stark, noir influenced vibe that made Sin City so memorable on the big screen. And now the film's first two stills - featuring Samuel L Jackson as the villainous Octopus and Scarlett Johannson as Silken Floss - have arrived and while this is clearly the work of Frank Miller, both boast an impressive use of color that immediately gives it some separation from his debut screen effort. These are very, very nice. Hit the link below to check 'em out.

Well, the hat looks right.
Ick! I'd rather have no Spirit movie at all than a Frank Millerized version of The Spirit. This just looks and feels wrong on so many levels.
