Good god, if this keeps up I'm going to start praying that more stunt men will turn to making their own feature films. First we had Johnny Nguyen turning in strong work with his Vietnamese action flick The Rebel and now here comes Australia's Nash Edgerton taking the director's chair for The Square. A quick look over Edgerton's resume will tell you that the man has been in high demand for the past several years, his CV boasting work on literally every high profile film to shoot in Australia over the past several years. The Matrix sequels? Superman? Star Wars? They're all on there, so the guy obviously knows what he's doing and has the respect of his peers. And as an added bonus, he also happens to be the brother of Joel Edgerton, a rather in demand actor at the moment, who not only stars in the film but wrote it as well.
What is it? That's a good question. All they're saying is that it is the story of a man whose life falls apart when his mistress presents him with a bag of cash but the trailer is absolutely fantastic stuff: evocative, beautifully shot, and using the soundtrack to perfect effect. Very, very tasty. You'll find the trailer embedded in the Twitch Player below the break.
