I've been hugely looking forward to seeing new Korean action-adventure film Once Upon A Time In Korea since first laying eyes on the trailer a few months back. The film, which I think looks to take a page out of the Indiana Jones book though others have rightly pointed out similarities to the French Arsene Lupin series as well, looks to be a stylish bit of work, set during the era when Korean was occupied by hostile Japanese forces, and hugely inspired by the old serials of the early days of film and, frankly, we just don't get enough of these sorts of films. I get my shot at seeing it on the big screen in a couple days here at the Hong Kong Filmart but for the rest of you, your chance is coming soon, too. The film arrives on Korean DVD March 31st and, as is virtually always the case with Korean releases, English subtitles are included. Take a peek at the trailer below the break to see why I care.

Snooze fest. Slightly better than Hanbando. Save your coin.
