First Shot Of Donnie Yen In Gordon Chan's PAINTED SKIN!

by Todd Brown, March 21, 2008 9:53 PM

Over the past few days I have spent a great deal of time being looked down upon by Hong Kong martial arts star Donnie Yen, the Eastern Mordor Film Company's booth at the Hong Kong Filmart being a simply massive construct designed to showcase a pair of much larger than life shots from the company's flagship release, the supernaturally tinged martial arts film Painted Skin, with Yen in the lead. While packing to head back home tonight I made a point of holding on to the big industry dailies that featured those same shots on their covers so that I could scan them when I returned home but, as it turns out, the good folk at Chinese web portal Sina have beaten me to it. And so I can now present them to you, no travel delays or scanning required. In a word: sumptuous.

Question after seeing these two sheets: will this be released in the US as:"Legend of the Black Scorpion II"? ;-)

lol, I hate how they absolutely butcher movie titles like how they changed Sha Po Lang to Killzone and especially The Banquet. The Banquet is no legend and it also doesnt have a single scorpion in the movie. Atleast I dont remember any, haha

it's time for another company to step up and get some rights to these films, instead of the Weinsteins. releasing 25 movies direct to DVD, other than a butchered Tom-Yum-Goong and a 3-city release for Flash Point, and then changing the titles on roughly 1/3 of them isn't doing these films much justice. if it weren't for the people from HK Legends being involved, they'd probably all be cut, dubbed, rescored and retitled like the old days!
