How clever, the sequel to 'The Descent' is called 'The De2cent'.

Wow. Sat on this news for a day cause I knew that the lads over at BD would soon get more information about this project. Good news everyone, there may be a sequel to Neil Marshall's The Descent and it will be called... The De2cent! My, that's some clever titling.

Here's the skinny. Neil Marshall is out. Lionsgate Studios is out. James Watkins [who?] wrote the sequel and Pathe Studios is shopping it around.

In the sequel to Lionsgate's terrifying film, Shauna Macdonald's character of Sarah returns as a rescue crew finds her and takes her back into the cave to find survivors - where terror ensues once again. We've also been tipped that in the sequel you'll get to see "little" cave monsters in action.

If you read the interaction from BD's readers after their announcement it suddenly makes sense. What do you do when you have a popular film like The Descent that was compared with a landmark sci-fi film like Alien. Why, you do the only plausible thing and copy that movie's successful sequel as well. My god, its Aliens all over again. Just with a clever number/letter combination in the titling that says to your movie goers, this film was written by someone with at least a GED.

Game over man. Game over.

ugh, i did not see this coming. Didn't even cross my mind that there would be a sequel but guess i should of known better. i think i may just pretend this isn't happen and doesn't exist and stay with the idea that The Descent was one of my favorite horrors of recent times.... by itself.

LOL. Oui, oui mon amis! That's awesome.

What kind of rescue crew would take her back into the cave? This sounds horrible on pretty much every front.

At least the title will serve as a clear warning sign to the perceptive that the movie will suck.

Looks like Claire Danes in the image.

Might be the James Watkins who wrote 'My Little Eye' and 'Gone'. Could be worse.

Considering she DIED in the film...
Well, I guess if you work from the US version, this sequel makes sense.

Except that it's a stupid idea, Marshall has nothing to do with it and some nobody is writing it...
