Mmmm, very nice. Quality independent science fiction is hard to come by, most film makers working on a budget feeling like the demands of the budget are beyond them but with a smart premise you can create some surprisingly effective work on the cheap. Such looks to be the case with new Argentinian effort Three Minutes by Diego Lublinsky.
A love story between Alex, the journalist and Ana, a young piano student begins the moment when they take a strange substance which helps them to accelerate their motions. Both of them end up finding themselves in a place where time stands still. In a world where everything and everybody else remains frozen in time, Alex and Ana discover their feelings for each other. But they are unaware of the consequences once they are thrust back into reality…
The trailer for this is simple and effective, Lublinsky clearly smart enough to make the film about his characters more than his concept while also skilled enough to pull of the concept beautifully. Very nice. You'll find the trailer in the Twitch Player below the break.
