The Korean Wave may have subsided some but that hasn't kept K-pop superstar Rain from working on cementing international stardom. Apart from signing on with the William Morris Agency a new film role was announced as well. Those wacky Wachowskis, they must have liked him so much in his supporting role in their film Speed Racer that they're working with him again. This time they're giving him a starring role in another film set to start filming in Berlin in March titled Ninja Assassin. The Wachowskis have reportedly turned over the directing reigns to their director protege James McTeigue who lensed their film V for Vendetta. Details about Ninja Assassin are slim to none so when more details come out we'll let you know.
Rain's film debut was in Park Chan-wook's I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK, which you should see even if it is for the rooftop finger machine gun rampage. Odd.

I’m finding it hard to forgive the Wachowski’s and McTeigue for their spectacular fucking up of Hershbeigel’s take on Invasion of the Bodysnatchers. Shame all around fellas. Boo.
in Berlin last year, i was queuing up for the screening of Letters From Iwo Jima at 9pm one night. i suddenly felt someone was behind me. i turned around, and ... there were Rain and Park Chan-wook.
i was too dumbstruck to say anything.
that was a real kick-myself-in-the-nuts moment. till today, i'm still kicking.
They're reading this thread, saying "Damn, that was Visitor in front of us last year!"...
Okay. I saw 4 comments already and thought 'damn, the korean girlies have found this thread already'. lol. shame on me. But. Yes. I too would have gotten weak in the knees had I seen Visitor standing in front of me too.
Not just'Visitor',but 'The Visitor'
No point kicking yourself over it. I too would be dumbstruck.
Ardvark you're right, rain was good in I'm a Cyborg.
A ninja movie by the Wachowskis? Not sure if that's a good or bad news (probably the later)
Hasn't anyone noticed that McTeigue can't direct action? V for Vendetta had some of the most laughably terrible action scenes I've ever seen.
The most terrible action scenes i have seen lately were in this movie called 'Gabriel'.
