Bad news for Stephen Chow fans. The Shaolin Soccer director-star's latest, sci fi comedy CJ7 has reportedly been pushed back until March 7th. It's not a big delay but it's still a delay. Sigh. You'll find the first trailer in the Twitch Video Player below the break.

Sucks to be us. But putting it out in the US before Hong Kong didn't make a whole lot of sense in the first place. I can't think of a better way to ensure the Hong Kong market is flooded with bootlegs a couple of weeks before it breaks records there than to open in the US first. Sony Classics hasn't even gotten around to mis-marketing it yet, and the MPAA hasn't yet slapped an R on it for no reason. March at the EARLIEST.
A delay does hurt, I just hope in the end it is worth it.
I'm not surprised in the least. Don't know why it's happening but the fact that it was slated to come out Friday and we haven't heard word one in terms of commercials or press screenings or anything else resembling hype leading up to it made me think that a setback was inevitable.

That plus references by the USA press that the film is like a Tarantino piece, because according to most critics over here, ALL asian flicks are like a Tarantino movie.
