With the international success of the Fast and the Furious films it seems like street racing movies are popping up all over the globe. Hong Kong's Initial D was a big hit, Sho Aikawa's starring in a Japanese spin on the genre, you have to figure it spurred renewed interest in the French Taxi franchise and now here come the Russians with Streetracers (Стритрейсеры). It's slick, it's stylish and while it's easy to dismiss this stuff as fluff I doubt you can find a single movie lover out there who couldn't name their favorite car chase sequence right off the top of their head (Ronin for me) so there's obviously something primal going on here. Plus. this one actually adds a little something new to the mix ... yes, you will see them jump a tank. No, not jump over the tank, they jump the tank itself. That's got to be bad for the suspension.

HAHA! Fast cars. Crashes. Sex. More fast cars. More crashes and MORE fast cars. Sweet!
Not really Vladimir, Its pretty interesting to see the Russian take on these 'commercial' films, we've seen from films such as Wolfhound, Sword Bearer and Bimmer that Russia has some very talented directors emgerging in world cinema.
