With the International Film Festival Rotterdam just around the corner - and our own Ardvark preparing to run himself ragged covering it - the press releases are starting to appear daily, the latest one announcing a flurry of French titles slated to appear this year. One that immediately grabbed my attention was Le Tueur, the debut feature from acclaimed short film director Cedric Anger. A crime thriller loaded with drugs and guns this looks to be some hard edged, very noir influenced stuff that looks to continue France's current hot streak of aggressive and remarkably assertive genre fare. Very nice.
