Any film fan here in Toronto should be well familiar with the writing of John Harkness. The lead film writer for NOW Magazine, Toronto's leading entertainment weekly, since 1981 Harkness covered literally everything worth covering in the city for more than twenty five years and the magazine has just announced his untimely passing. Born in 1954 Harkness was far from an old man and this comes as more than a little bit of a shock. No details as far as cause of death have been released at present. Rest in peace, John, you'll be missed.
