Very fun news here for fans of Asian cult film with Ivan Lai's 1991 Hong Kong oddity The Blue Jean Monster arriving on DVD. The film stars Shing Fui On as a cop killed in the line of duty but revived by a jolt of electricity whose one goal is to hold himself together - literally - long enough to solve his final case and witness the birth of his child. Erotic Ghost Story's Amy Yip makes an appearance as a prostitute named Death Rays and Gloria Yip also co-stars. The new Joy Sales release is dirt cheap and all region so fans of the unusual have no excuse not to check it out.
Also arriving on DVD is the latest by Danny Pang, In Love With The Dead which stars Shawn Yue in a ghostly love story.

Sometimes YesAsia puts up stuff for pre-order early and sometimes only days in advance of a release date, I guess.
Yes it's cheap but you get what you pay for with these discs... The Joy Sales EROTIC GHOST STORY discs were borderline unwatchable. I'll still pick it up of course because I've never seen the flick but don't expect a stunning new transfer or even real anamorphic encoding.
Got it, watched it and can confirm that it is indeed anamorphic. Looks great! Not Criterion quality of course, but much better than I expected. I hope to see more Joy Sales "Legendary Collection" titles like this!
