it's from aicn so it must be true.

i don't like sequels when there's too much time between their productions. i say that once a year has passed after a movie is released that you have no right to make or even consider making a sequel. your window has passed.

Furthermore:

Before Sunset, Clerks 2, and the "Up" series of documentaries.

On the Other hand, Dirty Dancing 2, Starship Troopers 2, and The Evening Star (sequel to Terms of Endearment)...

Aww com'on... Starship Troopers 2 rulz! Steady Eddie Neumeier can do no wrong in my books. BTW, what are you doing watching Evening Star in the first place? Yikes!

PS. There's a straight to DVD Starship Troopers 3 on the way. It's called "Marauder" and Ed Neumeier is directing.

Check it... http://imdb.com/title/tt0844760/

Really!? So you think about 95% of all sequels never should never even have been considered - much less produced? No Godfather, no T2, no Empire Strikes Back, no 28 Weeks Later, no Aliens? I mean the list goes on and on.

You MAY have a valid argument, but your time frame I think is a little small. But I don't think time should matter at all. If someone wanted to do a sequel for Metropolis (1927), I'd be all about it. Time means nothing to film (usually).

just be grateful that they didn't decide to REMAKE Tron.
