i don't like sequels when there's too much time between their productions. i say that once a year has passed after a movie is released that you have no right to make or even consider making a sequel. your window has passed.

PS. There's a straight to DVD Starship Troopers 3 on the way. It's called "Marauder" and Ed Neumeier is directing.

Really!? So you think about 95% of all sequels never should never even have been considered - much less produced? No Godfather, no T2, no Empire Strikes Back, no 28 Weeks Later, no Aliens? I mean the list goes on and on.
You MAY have a valid argument, but your time frame I think is a little small. But I don't think time should matter at all. If someone wanted to do a sequel for Metropolis (1927), I'd be all about it. Time means nothing to film (usually).
