So, Toronto's Reel Asian International Film Festival kicked off last night in fine form with the local premier of Justin Lin's mock-doc Finishing the Game. We've already reviewed the film twice in these pages and I find myself, as usual, in complete agreement with Peter's take on things so I'll refrain from repeating what has already been said and merely point out that if you weren't there, you missed out. Co-star Dustin Nguyen was on hand to introduce the film to the very appreciative crowd, and all was right with the world.
In related news, a word to Justin Lin: if you're reading this, Justin, just be aware that if Fists of Fuhrer is not your next film you're going to have a full scale revolt on your hands.
Reel Asian continues throughout the week, if you're local don't miss the Twitch-presented showing of short films by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang on Saturday.

Fists of Fuhrer! Ha ha! That's fucking brilliant.
And you're saying tht without even seeing the stuff Lin shot for it ... there's a major Fists of Fuhrer sequence in Finishing the Game. It's brilliant. Someone needs to release just that bit online ...
And I never thought I'd say this... but MC Hammer can act!
Its a bummer that you didn't get Sung Kang and Roger Fan, Fan is a riot! They were awesome at the Dallas screening. It actually starts here this weekend I think in a regular run.
