Mister Movie Voice Proves Stronger Than The Cyborgs ... It's The US APPLESEED EX MACHINA Trailer

Right. I don't care for the English dub much at all. I care for the incredible over use of Mr.Movie Voice even less. But the US trailer for Appleseed: Ex Machina has arrived, it features a good amount of footage not included in the earlier Japanese trailers and it's smokin' hot. Yeah, I know a lot of people didn't care for the shading style in the first one - personally I love it - but they've advanced the technology significantly for this one and it's just jaw dropping.

For those not keeping score this is the second feature in the new CG animated revival of the Appleseed saga, originally penned by Ghost in the Shell creator Masamune Shirow. These are high action, high concept pieces revolving around the integration of cyborgs into human society, they're ultra-violent, ultra-stylish - Miuccia Prada designed costumes for this one - and Hard Boiled director John Woo signed on to this one as a producer so you just know there's going to be an insane level of gun play. The trademark doves are already visible in one of the Japanese trailers.

That is one godawful trailer. Movie looks theoretically decent, and the dubbing was a lot better than I was expecting. But wow, that voiceover is lethal.

dunno... i'm tempted to some extent, but those human faces still make the characters look like they're reanimated corpses.

Maybe that'll work in their favour when they go and make that RESIDENT EVIL CG "anime" thing.

Yea, that voice over kinda made me NOT want to watch it (though that won't be the case). Eh, I'll just catch the Japanese audio.

@ Inappropriate pop songs: You know there was a song in the first (Goodbye To You or something like that) that was actually pretty good outside of the film. They probably should have just kept the beat and not the vocals for the film though.
