Not surprisingly Michel Gondry and Co. have found a fun and novel way to market the new (and highly anticipated) film Be Kind, Rewind. Mini trailers of the their distinct home-made recreations (dubbed 'sweding') of Robocop, Boyz in da Hood, Ghostbusters, Rush Hour and Driving Miss Daisy are all there for you viewing pleasure. And just for fun, check out some of the original pioneers of sweding (in their case Microsoft's Power-Point, and various information tutorials) from Common Craft. I'm partial to their Halloween entry of How to Survive a Zombie Attack. For the Be Kind, Rewind site, the hands that come in to swede the internet is very, very similar looking. It's all good though.
Be Kind, Rewind opens in Canada and the US in January 2008.
This is in my top three most anticipated films for 2008, I really can't wait for this one. I love Michel Gondry!
