If you thought the still of Histeria which we posted a while ago was enticing, wait till you see the trailer. Yes, Malaysian filmmaker James Lee's mainstream horror movie looks bloody and gory. Plus, it has a lesbian element, which is something rarely seen in Malaysian films. Prepare to have some local eyebrows raised!
Histeria, about a bunch of girls in a haunted college and a series of grisly deaths, will be released in Malaysian cinemas sometime next year. Lee, who recently appeared in Liew Seng Tat's Pusan winner, Flower In The Pocket, as a negligent father, is well-known for his own independent films, mostly human dramas. His first attempt at big-screen mainstream horror was a segment in Visits: Hungry Ghosts Anthology (2004).
Watch the Histeria trailer (no subtitles though!) embedded after the break.
