2006 Portuguese chiller Coisa Ruim - available on these shores as Bad Blood was one of my very favorite films of that year - literally so, since it made my best of list. The product of young directors Tiago Guedes and Frederico Serra, it balanced style and smarts and steeped it all in stellar performances and an oddly unsettling atmosphere. And so it makes me very happy that the duo are re-reaming for their next feature. Information is next to non-existent at the moment, limited only to the title - Entre os Dedos, which translates to Between The Fingers - and the fact that, like Coisa Ruim, it stars Filipe Duart. I Todd im portuguese so i like to know that at least somo of our movie have an international audience. We have a lot of these called "authors" that just keep stalling an evolution in your cinema. Almost everything is financed by the government and new directors always have a lot of trouble to make movies. Speaking of "Entre os Dedos" i think it wont be as much a genre movie as Coisa Ruim was , but will be thematically related...a drama about a family who starts to breaking up.I think the movie is still in pre-production but even here is very difficult to gather information about our national cinema. Really sad the situation aroud here.
