TORONTO AFTER DARK Hits the Local Press

by Todd Brown, October 19, 2007 1:44 AM

The second annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival - which I helped program - gets rolling tomorrow and today you can go and get someone else's unbiased opinion about whether it's any good. Two people's opinions, in fact, with major feature articles appearing in today's edition of both NOW and EYE, Toronto's big entertainment weeklies. The verdict? Audience of One and The Rebel both rated four stars - huzzah! - and one pointed out the obvious fact, which I'd actually missed, that the post In The Name of The King Q&A with Uwe Boll is actually being hosted by one of his opponents in the much hyped critic-boxing matches from last year. Nice.

At one point I was hoping to see a good handful of the TAD movies, but now I'm just hoping and praying that this stupid shitty TV show I'm working on wraps on Tuesday, as scheduled, so I can see Nightmare Detective on Wednesay night. Please please please...
