I know Kurt's not such a fan of this one but I have a deep and abiding love for the writing of Douglas Coupland and I actually greatly enjoyed the cynical, self-biting edge that crept into his JPod and I subsequently have a good deal of hope for this. Coupland has been moving towards the screen for a little while now having written Everything's Gone Green specifically for the big screen, the in production Extinction Event for the small screen, and now there's news that he is actively involved in adapting his JPod into a thirteen episode television series, the first time any of his work has made the transition from page to screen. Coupland is on board as an executive producer so his tone should survive intact which, for me, is the most important thing ...

Hey, the GUM THIEF is big step back up to form, a lot of Jpod feels recycled and the bitter edge didn't do much for me, I prefer his dial set to melancholic over black-comedy.

I'd be curious to see if they keep the negative tone, as Everything's Gone Green is quite upbeat considering the subject matter...
