Now Alex De La Igelesia is a favorite around here at twitch, finally he's made the move over to Hollywood, now his last full length 800 Bullets was a little on the weak side, so heres hoping The Oxford Murders makes up for that. A One Sheet has surfaced and it looks very tasty indeed. The film stars Frodo Wood and John Hurt, and is basically about them both teaming up to stop a series of murders.

The film opens early next year.

Loved everything the man's done so far. I'm really looking forward to this. I think he was on tap to direct an English-language FU MANCHU revival a few years ago but it never came together. This seems more up his alley - hopefully the language cross-over doesn't dull de la Iglesia's dark wit.

I'm excited! Maybe this will prompt some company to release El Dia de la Bestia on DVD in R1

Actually, Alex De La Igelesia's most recent full length was Crimen Ferpecto in 2004...and it was pretty good, IMO.

My mistake misterblue, probably got mixed up because 800 bullets was the last Alex film I saw and it left a sour taste in my mouth!. Crimen Ferpecto is very impressive though, Im very surpised Hollywood havent planeed a remake of that or la Comunidad.

I'm on the same page here. Loved Crimen Ferpecto - hated 800 Ballas.
